As part of Pierce College's Pre-Veterinary Program our students work very hard at giving back to our community. In 2007 we provided 250 backpacks to children living on the poorest of America's Indian Reservations, collected and packed clothing items for the homeless in Los Angeles, repaired and contributed to the maintenance of the Pierce College farm animal units and sent gifts to our troops on the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan. This past year, one of our students lost her twenty year old son while he was serving in the US Marine Corps in Iraq. It is in his (Cpl. Christopher David Leon, )memory, that we sent
gift packages to our troops for Mother's Day.
