The courses I teach

Microeconomics (Econ 1) & Macroeconomics (Econ 2)

Econ 1 is a course designed to familiarize students with the basic concepts in Microeconomics. It mainly deals with topics such as basic principles of economics, supply and demand, consumers and producers, the efficiency of markets, externalities, public goods and common resources, the design of the tax system, the costs of production, monopoly and oligopoly, earnings and discrimination, income inequality and poverty, the theory of consumer choice, and frontiers of Microeconomics.

Econ 2 is a course designed to familiarize students with the basic concepts in Macro-economics. It mainly deals with topics such as measuring a nationís income and the cost of living; production and growth; saving, investment and the financial system; the basic tools of finance; unemployment; the monetary system; aggregate demand and aggregate supply; the short-run tradeoff between inflation and unemployment.

 

 


Lulu Laing's Profile

Lulu Laing, Ph.D in Business, former full professor of economics at Osaka Sangyo University, president of East West Cultural Center, WV. I taught International Finance at Pepperdine University and I am presently teaching Microeconomics & Macroeconomics at Pierce College.
