MAP (Math Algebra Project) Skills Practice Videos
The idea of having Math videos is to make it possible to decrease lecture time in order to increase the time spent on hands-on directed learning activities in the classroom. The videos below are screen recordings with voice made on one of our Tablet PC computers (which is why the writing is so smooth – well, as smooth as your own handwriting is). There are many very slick ways ($$) to make instruction videos. Our recordings have a rough unscripted “stream of consciousness” personal approach and may actually be best because they show the math syntax the natural way the student will really write it, and these videos are easy and fast to create. Some of the videos include demonstrations of how to use the TI graphing calculator (these videos are made possible by using the TI calculator emulator software). Viewing these videos will give you further ideas of what is possible for your own recordings.
You can pause, or skip forward or back by clicking and dragging the little pointer, at any time during the playback.
Also, obviously you would have said things and wrote things differently! The point is, you can do it yourself and make videos the way you want, and they can be included in the project at any time. These videos include voice so turn up the volume on your speakers.
