Math Exit Test (MET)

Math 115

The MET is part of the Pierce Math Department's SLO (Student Learning Outcome) assessment. It is not designed to be a department gateway exam.

Each instructor determines the weight of the MET in the class. It can be used as the Final or the instructor can have his/her own final exam. A student can fail it and still pass the class if the instructor's grading system allows that - it's totally up to the individual instructor.

Calculators on the MET

Students are allowed to use graphing calculators on the MET if they choose to do so. But they are not allowed to use cellphones (not even as a calculator), nor are they allowed to use other devices with qwerty keyboards or with removable memory.
