Getting your AA degree in Criminal Justice - Criminal Justice is a career-oriented liberal arts major focusing upon the inter-relationship among crime, the criminal justice system and society as a whole.  As such, there are many potential career opportunities in this field, such as:   

Community Agencies Corrections Counseling Court and Legal Services
Crime Prevention Forensic Science Services Police Services Policy Development
Private Security Psychological Services Research Social Work

The Criminal Justice Associate of Arts Degree may also be used as undergraduate preparation for transfer to a Baccalaureate program at a 4-yr. institution.  For specific transfer institution requirements and questions, please contact Kathy Oborn, Criminal Justice Faculty Advisor at obornkm@piercecollege.edu

There are two ways to earn an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice: 

1. Completion of Option 3 (General Studies) + Criminal Justice Core A or B (18 units)  
2. Completion of Option 1 (IGETC/CSU General Ed Certified Plan) + Criminal Justice Core A or B (18 units)

There is also two 18 unit core choices: A & B
