David Parker graduated magna cum laude in History from Cornell University and was awarded a Master’s degree in History by Stanford University.  He worked as a media specialist for a number of prominent ad agencies in both New York and Los Angeles before accepting the position of Media Planning Officer in the advertising department at the world headquarters of Bank of America in San Francisco. In the fall of 1995 he began doctoral studies at Claremont Graduate University. He was awarded the Ph.D. in 2003.  Dr. Parker has taught at a number of schools in the California State University system and began teaching US History, both History 11 and History 13, at Pierce College in 2006. He is also a member of the faculty of the LACCD ITV Weekend College.
