I.                    GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP DIRECTORIES

<>A good, general directory of legitimate scholarship-granting organizations, and the hundreds of scholarships they offer, is compiled each year by the office of U.S.               Congresswoman Roybal-Allard.  It is generally arranged by scholarship submission deadlines throughout the year.  <>
The latest update (2007) is available online at the following address:  http://www.house.gov/roybal-allard/2007_Student_resource_guide.pdf
  <>
It will also be available at the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office section of the Pierce College web site (www.piercecollege.edu).

A “hard copy” of the directory is also available in the “Scholarship’s Directory Notebook” at the Financial Aid Office (College Services Building), which students may browse through during our open hours: Mondays & Tuesdays 8:00am to 4:00 pm; Wednesdays & Thursdays, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Fridays 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Other directories in the Notebook focus on scholarships for minority students, and scholarships where U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency are not requirements.

The Pierce College Financial Aid Office web site also has a “Useful Links” Tab which links to well-known free on-line scholarship databases

Our lobby has Internet-connected computers that students may use during our open hours for the purpose of searching, researching, and applying for scholarships and other student aid. (Note: a printer is not currently available for student use.)
